Change the E-Bike battery - what you need to know

The battery is the centrepiece of your e-bike - but like any battery, the capacity of the cells gradually decreases over time. Replacing a used e-bike battery with a replacement battery is usually simple as long as you keep a few important things in mind.

Will the new battery fit in my e-bike?

First of all, you need a battery that is actually compatible with your drive system.
A battery must fulfil the following requirements.

Mechanical fit: The new battery must mechanically fit exactly into the existing mount of the old battery.

Electrical compatibility: The voltage (e.g. 36 V) must be identical to that of your drive system. An incorrect voltage can lead to damage to the electronics.

Software communication: The E-bike will only function correctly if the communication between the motor, display and battery works. The software of a replacement battery must therefore be perfectly matched to the system.
