How do I use the AV-Toolbox app?
To use the app, download it from the relevant app store for your system and complete the registration process.
Remove the battery from the bike before connecting it to the app.
What functions does the app offer?
The AV-Toolbox enables the following functions:
- Reading out SOC (state of charge), SOH (health), temperature (core pack) and number of charge cycles
- Carrying out firmware updates
Which batteries can be connected with the app?
The following batteries can be connected with the app:
- E-Bike Vision Akku, compatible to Bosch* Active (Plus) / Performance (CX)
- E-Bike Vision Akku Lite, compatible to Bosch* Active (Plus) / Performance (CX)
- E-Bike Vision Akku InFrame, compatible to Bosch* Active (Plus) / Performance (CX)
- E-Bike Vision Akku, compatible to Yamaha* (PW / ST / TE / CE) (Batteries with green LED)
- E-Bike Vision Akku, compatible to Panasonic* 36 V Next Generation
My battery is not displayed, what should I do?
Tap the icon with the magnifying glass at the top right of the app and then switch on the battery with the control button. If necessary, connect the battery to the charger so that it is permanently switched on (if the charge level is less than 100%).
For E-Bike Vision batteries compatible with the Bosch* drive system from 2019-2020, it may be necessary to update the Bluetooth chip. If this battery is not displayed in the app, use the following instructions to carry out the update. If you have any questions, please contact our service team.
How do I choose the right battery?
If there are several batteries, only the desired battery should be switched on or connected to the charger.
Your battery is displayed as 'Battery_GOBT' by default. In the overview, you can tap on the device and rename it. With a unique name, you can quickly find your battery the next time you use the app.
Why do I see so only a few charge cycles, even though the battery has been connected to the charger much more often?
This is because the app only displays full cycles.
A full cycle means that the battery is completely discharged once and subsequently completely charged up (1 full cycle = 100% of the battery energy charged and discharged). Part cycles are added on.
If an e-bike battery is charged from 20 % to 70 %, subsequently driven down to a remaining capacity of 40% and then again charged up to 90%, this is equivalent to three part cycles:
Part cycle 1 (20% – 70% charged) = 70%-20% / 2 = 0.25 full cycles
Part cycle 2 (70% – 40% discharged) = 70%-40% / 2 = 0.15 full cycles
Part cycles 3 (40% – 90% charged) = 90%-40% / 2 = 0.25 full cycles total cycles: 0.65 full cycles
What does 'Health' mean in the Data menu?
The term 'health' is oriented towards the SOH (State of Health)
SOH or “State of Health“ describes the state of health of an already aged, used battery in respect of its ability to achieve required performance parameters compared to a new battery. This means SOH describes the status of aging of a battery.
How can I update my battery?
After you have connected the battery, tap on update.
The current firmware status is displayed and also whether a new update is available.
The update was cancelled, what do I have to do now?
Start the update again
